Chlamydia, the ‘silent epidemic’, is the most common Sexually Transmitted Infection: sexually active people may have it without showing any symptoms. It’s easily treated with antibiotics, but if left untreated can lead to infertility in both men and women. To be eligible for the draw and chance to win one of three, (a Nintendo Wii, a £20 Shopping Voucher and 2 Cinema Tickets) participants must: 1) between the ages of 16-24 years old; 2) reside in Peterborough; and 3) have completed and returned a Chlamydia screen test by 22 March 2010.
A full postcode, date of birth and contact information must be included on the test request form to ensure your participation in the ?Wee for a Wii? promotion.
The Peterborough Chlamydia Screening Programme will draw three randomised names for each of the giveaways.
The shopping vouchers provided will be generic vouchers (that can be used in many stores throughout Peterborough) purchased by Peterborough Community Services for the purpose of this promotion.
The Cinema tickets will be for the Showcase Cinema in Peterborough.
Employees and relatives of employees of NHS Peterborough and Peterborough Community Services are not eligible to take part in the ?Wee for a Wii? Contest.
The Peterborough Chlamydia Screening Programme will not pass any personal details obtained from participants in the ?Wee for a Wii? promotion to any organisation and winners of the draw will not be publically announced.
The Health Protection Agency do count how many people in England have Chlamydia and we will send the Health Protection Agency anonymised test results, this does not reveal details of participant?s names or contact details.
All Chlamydia tests completed by young people aged 16-24 between the 22nd February and 22nd March 2010 will be entered into the draw. However if you wish to opt out of the draw you can contact the Peterborough Chlamydia Screening Programme on 01733 317860.
